| Review: | Avoid this place like the plague. Rumor has it that this bar was once tolerable, and even fun, before the Meatpacking District got over-run by weekend meatheads. The only value that Gaslight provides to the typical New Yorker is that is a place to bring one's un-hip, out-of-town male acquaintances and relatives, for whom a more authentic experience might be too off-putting. Gaslight's music selections hew close to the top 40 and the place has sufficient scantily clad Jersey girls and is lax enough about letting in hordes of black tee-ed/over-gelled young guys that your buddies from out of town will feel right at home. |
